Before the Delhi Test, Shreyas Iyer was certified healthy

The BCCI announced on Tuesday that Shreyas Iyer has been cleared to play in the second Test against Australia in Delhi (February 14). As a result, following receiving approval from the BCCI Medical Team, the middle-order batsman will join the team in New Delhi.

Iyer has missed recent New Zealand ODIs due to a back issue that has kept him out of action for about a month. In the ODI series against Sri Lanka last month, he made his final outing for India. Iyer wasn't able to join the group for the first Test in Nagpur despite being nominated to the Test squad for the Australia series.

Suryakumar Yadav was given a Test debut in his place. The daring batsman scored just 8 runs in the lone innings, giving India an innings victory. Iyer, who recently secured his place in the XI, is anticipated to rejoin the team in Delhi. On February 17, the second Test will start.

India's squad for second Test:Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), R. Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav
